Our Way Ahead
Last Tuesday’s electoral debacle ranked right up there as one of the greatest disappointments of my life. Fully expecting Mitt Romney to win handily due to my belief that America would not take this step into the abyss of authoritarian Hell, Fox News called Wisconsin for Obama at 8:01 pm CST. I knew right then Axelrod would have his day. How could they possibly call our state when my wife was at Davian’s counting Wards 17, 18 & 19 and wouldn’t be done for at least an hour? Someone had inside information and we all know the ultimate source.
Regardless of how David Axelrod managed to obtain the numbers required for the electoral win in this Presidential election, our job really doesn’t change. All elected officials need to be constantly scrutinized, even Mitt Ronmey and Paul Ryan, especially Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan since we would have had a hand in their success. And the things they are pursuing correctly need to be supported with ongoing activism.
While the scope and breadth of the task of restoring America to its Founding Principles has been greatly expanded due to the immediate damage Obama will do to our economy within the next three months, we have to move forward. We have to build off of the gains we have made here in our state and across America in the past three years.
That sounds great Steve. But how?
First, Wisconsin and all other states aligned with our movement must resist the implementation of ObamaCare in any and every possible way. THIS MEANS NO STATE EXCHANGES! Plenty of wellmade videos and logically argued essays abound from the think tanks and activist organizations on the side of American Liberty for our Governor and others to cite in support of their defiant actions. We, the citizens of the United States of America, are CONSTITUTIONALLY OBLIGATED as free people to defy tyranny and not comply with a Federal government not following the constitution. Our Governors and State Legislatures must be our partners in executing our responsibility.
Secondly, we must engage our municipal and county governments. I went to our Waukesha County Board meeting a week ago Tuesday and found our county government dominated by progressive politicians, at least 17 out of 24, in fact. In what some call the most conservative county in all of America, progressive policies are being systematically implemented and government payrolls burgeoning.
The Waukesha County bureaucracy has become an obese pig of an employment agency for the governmentally connected. What a mess! We couldn’t even get a trailpaving project stopped that nobody wanted, wasn’t needed and cost a fortune. Why? Because the Federal government was throwing “free money” out to do it. And the “free money” drove the entire project through to the end.
What a shame and a disgrace!
But the good news is that the two women we helped win election to the board, Jennifer Grant and Janel Brandtjen, stood up and held their ground against these scoundrels.
Jennifer Grant proclaimed, “If we cannot stop this type of frivolous spending here in our county, if we cannot say no to the wasting of Federal money here in our county, if not in Waukesha County, then where? Who will set the example if not us?”
Four other board members voted with Janel and Jennifer to stop this waste. The 16 others present made it happen. I will be providing a much more detailed report about each member of the Waukesha county board and how they vote in coming publications. Beware Brookfield! You have voted in at least one full-blown Leftist to speak for you!
The above example shows you what can be done. We helped elect two fine people that have the courage to address the root problem of all local governments – taking the “free money.” Now we just need to find these heroines some like-minded friends. We plan to get them many in the coming years.
Lastly, keep working your circle. All we have done, group meetings, educational events and conferences, rallies, social gatherings, publications and newsletters, all of these things have connected us together and cultivated the philosophy of freedom. This is the only way we can win; by getting enough people to understand the true idea of America, what it means and how it must be safeguarded.
I have shared with many along this journey my secret for staying optimistic and excited in our quest: measure success by looking backward. Don’t dwell on a current failure or fret that you would like to be farther along in your ambitious mission, but look back and see how far you’ve come. We’ve come a long way.
When we held the first meeting of the Conservative Insurgency in our living room on Inauguration night in January 2009, we articulated 3 seemingly impossible political goals then: 1) Elect Scott Walker Governor of WI 2) Get rid of Russ Feingold as our US Senator 3) Make Barack Obama a one term president.
All told, I guess two out of three ain’t bad.
