• Congratulations to the Democrats. They have discredited themselves in less than 2 years at least as much as Republicans did in 8. So the pendulum seems likely to swing in favor of Republicans. But how many chameleon Republicans, Big Government Republicans will benefit from this? And what is to say that once in power, Republicans as a group will not abandon principle just like the last time, and once again BECOME the problem? Like Republican Congressman Ron Paul said about a year ago, “Where were they (Republicans) the last 8 years?”
Questions: Can we afford the Republican brand of Big Government any more than we can afford the Democrat version?
Could 2010 be the last chance not only for the Republican Party, but for freedom and prosperity in our country?
• John McCain, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, John Cornyn of Texas and Florida’s Mel Martinez and other big name, Big Government Republicans have endorsed Gov. Charlie Crist of Florida, in the US Senate race there. Despite repeatedly disavowing rumors that he would do so, Crist, who is now far behind state legislator Marco Rubio in the polls, has bolted the Republican Party to run as an independent. Crist had disavowed rumors of his doing so for the past few months.
So do these endorsements still stand? If not, why not? After all, the record of Crist is unchanged.
From an article by Michael Bender almost a year ago:
‘An endorsement from GOP leaders in Washington is not necessarily a plus, Palm Beach County Republican Party Chairman Sid Dinerstein said.
“They are negatives,” Dinerstein said. “These are the men who brought the party down.”
Seems that Dinerstein was on to something.
