Hi Everyone,
Following the excellent attendance of up to 5,000 people at Wednesdays No Carbon Tax protest in Canberra,
there are 3 important things I want to encourage concerned people to do:
1) More protests are planned (e.g. on the 2nd of April in Sydney) so try and see if you can get more people to each consecutive protest.
I have just had an email from organisers to confirm to everyone that the rally is on 2nd April in Sydney:
Location Hyde Park North between 10:30am to 12:30pm.
If the government sees the anger of the protest lessening, they will definitely push ahead with the tax.
Getting 5,000 or more at a Sydney or a future Canberra protest will keep the government under pressure.
2) Check out the climate commissions web site
http://climatecommission.gov.au/upcoming-events
for when Tim Flannery holds the next climate Commission hearing, and try to get to them and ask hard questions about the science.
There are nine meetings planned and the first one in Geelong showed that the commission is going to scare people with predictions
of the great barrier reef becoming an algal bloom paradise and days of extreme heat-wave / bushfire threats being the norm

In my view we can get more people involved in anti carbon tax protests by talking to them about the costs of a carbon tax,
but we can embarrass the Government best by asking questions on the science at the climate commission meetings.
If you get to ask questions I suggest
* ask for the scientists report on high threat Bushfire days being normal"
they are quoting and how those conclusions were reached or
* asking them if Richard Lindzen or Ferenc Miskolczis research work that shows by scientific data the
greenhouse effect has not risen in the last 25 years has been proven wrong and if so, by which scientist?
* Asking them that if global temperatures will not reduce for a thousand years (Flannerys quote)
what is the point of reducing CO2 when a war or hostilities between countries WILL render agreements useless within that time

* Who are the one or two climate scientists that have climate research (not opinion) that we can trust 100%
E.g Should we trust?
IPCC scientists like Michael Mann or what about Phil Jones (who have defrauded scientific data)
or Dr. Richard S. Lindzen or Dr Roy Spencer who have not.
3) Our party will have its AGM on April 2nd at 10.30 am at Sunshine RSL in Melbourne (99 Dickson St)
Lunch is available and:
Everyone keen to get things moving more please attend or send us an email if you are happy to offer your services to be on the executive.
Members of the Sovereignty party and the Climate Sceptics will be eligible to vote as we join our two parties together at this meeting.
An executive with members from both parties will be formed.
Cheers
Leon Ashby
