What do We the People stand for today, not what our founding fathers stood and fought for along with God?
I had the opportunity to pick up a used book by Tim and Beverly LaHaye called, “A Nation without a Conscience” published in 1993. The following consists of several paragraphs from this book. It is full of our country’s shortfalls. Sadly, since it was published in 1993, we have become a nation that is losing what made this country great! Awake People!
Whenever a nation turns its back on God or begins to live as if He does not exist, it begins to show up in its citizens’ disregard for human life. At one time almost every American believed in God, and that belief was reflected in the way people treated each other. Today’s humanist elite, who exercise more and more control over the media, education, and, to a great extent, our government, are largely driven by humanistic values and an agenda that is neither God’s nor that of the people they are supposed to serve.
The bone-chilling words of Adolf Hitler appear at the entrance of Auschwitz. Hitler wrote, “I want to raise a generation devoid of conscience.” It is an irony that the world rose up and defeated Hitler out of moral conviction, and now we in America, through our indolence and apathy, are achieving exactly what Hitler failed to do {emphasis added}.
Children depend upon love and protection from the adults in their world. But when we pay $500 billion in taxes to finance a secular educational system that fails to educate millions of its charges, prides itself on breaking down moral values learned at home, and permits 250,000 acts of violence in our schools each year, we are depriving our children of their fundamental needs.
Remember this was written 17 years ago.
The First Amendment has been so distorted that it is producing what it was written to prohibit – an established philosophy of secular humanism, which in every sense is itself an established religion – and this is a nation that once accommodated religion because its founders believed that “unalienable rights” come from God our Creator and were thus safeguarded through a relationship with him.
In other words, what the Bible refers to as sin or a “perversion” is now referred to merely as a “lifestyle” or a “sexual orientation.” Anyone who insists upon using biblical terms would be guilty of a “hate crime.”
Is government really the solution to our personal and national woes? Does more government help a problem or exacerbate it? President Abraham Lincoln had this to say on the subject: “You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.” Excessive government fosters dependence – not independence.
This is a small portion of the book. Again, remember it is 17 years old. However, more relevant today than ever before we find in Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV.
V23 Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
V24 But let him glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.
Our Greatest Lessons in the Bible and throughout history is that IT DOES REPEAT. Are you ready to help save America for your future generations? Become active in tea parties, town hall meetings, voting and last but not least fasting and prayer. Remember God does answer prayer.
