The people in attendance on Tuesday, April 27th at the Christopher Horner event at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh received a rare treat of intense intellectual examination of fact and history. Horner, known worldwide for his scrutiny and criticism of the man-made-global-warmingleading- to-catastrophe hypothesis, systematically laid out the logical basis of what this fabricated crisis was really all about. “You are all qualified to make an evaluation about any subject, and citizenship requires that you do. Don’t let anyone tell you that you need to be a scientist to have a valid opinion on climate issues. The other side certainly doesn’t comply with this alleged requirement.” He then cited Al Gore and a host of Hollywood activists that prove his statement.
Horner, an attorney, author and frequent news contributor, worked for a Democratic senator and for Enron in a truncated 3 week stint. This experience gives him a unique inside perspective on what the true agenda driving the global warming crisis really involves. “Enron went broke because they had their entire business poised to take advantage of the anticipated cap-and-trade legislation. When it didn’t happen the house of cards fell apart.”
Horner addressed other related issues demonstrating through logical progression that none of the issues were about the subject they are sold on. Environmental issues are really not about the environment, educational issues are not about teaching kids, energy issues are not about available resources, etc. “It’s all about control. Control of you.”
The Young America’s Foundation sponsored the event organized by Ethan Hollenberger and the College Republicans. Horner’s books were available for sale including his latest April 19th release “Power Grab: How Obama’s ‘Green’ Policies Will Steal Your Freedom and Bankrupt America,” previous 2007 best seller “The Politically Incorrect guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism” and “Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed.” Horner interacted one-on-one with attendees after concluding his remarks and signed copies of his books.
The audience included two Republican candidates; Terri McCormick, leading candidate for the House district currently served by Dr. Steve Kagan, and Dave Westlake, running for the Senate seat currently held by Russ Feingold.
